I visited Liberty Smokehouse at Crooked Thumb Brewery with high expectations, but unfortunately, it fell well short. Overall, I'd rate it a 4.8/10. For the quality of the food, the nearly $100 bill for two people made it feel significantly overpriced. Brisket – 4.2/10: The brisket lacked the deep smoke flavor you'd expect from good barbecue. There was virtually no bark, the meat was mushy rather than tender, and it lacked both texture and seasoning. Baby Back Ribs – 7.8/10: The ribs were the highlight of the meal. They were flavorful, cooked well, and didn't even need sauce. Pulled Pork – 3.2/10: This was one of the weakest pulled pork dishes I've had. It had the soft, mushy texture of meat cooked in a slow cooker rather than properly smoked, with very little smoke flavor or seasoning. Cornbread – 1.5/10: It didn't taste homemade. It reminded me of store-bought cornbread—possibly Costco—covered in butter. Baked Beans – 2.8/10: They tasted like canned beans with barbecue sauce mixed in, without much else to distinguish them. Potato Salad – 3.9/10: Average at best. It appeared to use processed, pre-cut potatoes, and nothing about it stood out. I wanted to try the mac and chees

brisket is best i’ve ever had!! would also really recommend the banana pudding. could’ve ate that whole thing in one sitting.

Phenomenal BBQ!!!! I came across Liberty Smokehouse on Facebook and could tell it was legit by the pictures. Finally made it out to try some today and it didn’t disappoint. The owner, Bryan, is so nice and you can tell he puts his heart into making top notch BBQ. Best BBQ in the Tampa Bay area without a doubt! It wont be long before he’s in a brick and mortar with a line around the block. Get it while you can!

Phenomenal Q and even better customer service. Let me explain. I tried it for the first time last week and there was a portion issue with my takeout order. I reached out to the owner via email and received a very nice reply from Bryan the owner explaining their process and how they always welcome feedback to improve their operations. He invited me back to make it right and also offered to show me around their truck to see what happens behind the scenes per se. I returned today, and spoke with Bryan for a few minutes. Super nice guy. He also introduced me to his team and they were all incredibly nice. The ribs, burnt ends, chicken, brisket were all top notch! The corn bread and mac cheese or also delicious. My wife and son loved it and we had plenty of leftover to take home. They are opening a brick and mortar location soon so that will be a game changer for them. Can’t say how impressed I was with Bryan and his team for turning me into what for them will be a lifelong customer. If they continue with this level of food and service I have no doubt they will be hugely successful.

I’m usually very conservative with my Google reviews. No matter how good a place is, I almost always give 4 stars and save that last star for places that are truly exceptional. Liberty Smokehouse is one of those rare exceptions. This is a 5-star experience, start to finish. First off, this is a food truck, and what they’re producing out of a truck is absolutely incredible. It honestly makes you wonder what they’d be capable of with a brick-and-mortar location. I can’t even begin to explain how good this meal was. Everything on the platter was cooked to perfection. The meats were packed with flavor—the kind that makes you keep eating even after you’re already full. Every bite was better than the last. The sides and dipping sauces were just as impressive, each with its own unique and delicious flavor. And the juices… the juices dripping off the meat deserve their own category. That’s how good this food is. You’ll find yourself soaking them up with the bread and everything else you can soak it up with. If you’re ever in the area, I highly, highly, highly recommend finding this truck. They’re active on social media and Google Maps, thats how I found them, so it’s easy to track where t
